James Rebanks is a farmer and writer from the Lake District in northern England. His first book The Shepherd’s Life was a Sunday Times No1 bestseller and was translated in to more than 20 languages. His second book, English Pastoral, was also an international bestseller, and won the prestigious Wainwright Prize for Nature Writing, and the Fortnum and Mason Food Book of the Year. He has written for the New York Times, Atlantic Monthly, Time magazine and many other publications. He cares deeply about the role that good farming and local food production can play in addressing the global challenges we face. He has 450 sheep, 20 cattle, two horses, five sheepdogs, and four children, and does everything in partnership with his wife Helen.
